Hi students!
A friendly reminder about AI and your LFBI coursework: the handbook does not permit generative AI to create content or generate ideas for any assignment. This includes asking AI to write a discussion response, or answer assignment questions or expanding on ideas you've initially conceived—even if you later put the material into your own words.
Your assignments should reflect your own study, thinking, and writing. The handbook does not provide a blanket exception for other AI-assisted tools, so please ask your instructor before using features that might write, rewrite, or develop your work for you. Don’t assume a feature is permitted simply because it is built into a familiar program. If you are an international student, keep in mind that we prefer you not use AI for anything more than spellcheck or punctuation. We would rather have your original ideas and study than have a grammatically perfect written assignment.
Please take this seriously: the handbook identifies AI-generated content as academic misconduct, which results in a zero for the course and a board review of your enrollment status. You can find additional information at lfbi.org/policies.
We know you are balancing school with work, family, and ministry, and we appreciate the effort you put into your studies. Our desire is to help you grow in your understanding of Scripture and your ability to minister to others. Working through an assignment yourself is an important part of that preparation. If you’re struggling or unsure about a tool, please reach out—we’re here to help!
