Hello Students,
We know that AI is suddenly everywhere and is capable of doing amazing things. We also know that universities and workplaces have different policies and views on how it can and should be used. We wanted to take some time to remind you of our policy as a school so that there is no confusion.
ChatGPT or other generative AI softwares are not permitted in the content development of any assignment in the Living Faith Bible Institute. Utilizing AI software to generate ideas or content in order to pass them off as one’s own will be considered analogous to plagiarism and will be adjudicated as such by the board of formal review. All written assignments are reviewed through digital analysis and if an assignment has been found to have utilized AI, students will then be subject to any number of potential consequences, including: receiving an F for the course, academic probation, suspension or expulsion.
We ask that you take this as seriously as we do.
If you are curious about why we are so concerned about how AI impacts the integrity of our instruction or even the power of our ministry, read Pastor Brandon Briscoe's article "Does Artificial Intelligence Have a Place in Ministry". If you want to get more help with writing in order to avoid using AI or plagiarizing, consider taking Freshman Orientation or visit our online "Writing Helps" on myLFBI.
Thank you,
LFBI Staff
